The Wedding: A December Bride!

December is the busiest month in a year because of the Christmas season. Most couples would have their wedding schedule before the “Ber” (Sept – Dec) months to avoid traffic, year end mall sales, family reunion, parties and all other stuff happening during this season. For many, inviting relatives and friends is a challenge since most are busy doing shopping, vacations and family get together. But my client took a brave step and opted to have their special day on the 28th of  December. The plan was a success! Their closest friends and relatives were all their and gave their support to the couple. All enjoyed and had so much fun witnessing as God joined them as one.

It was a memorable experience because I was able to witness their most joyous and heart warming moments as they exchanged vows. During the reception, the couple showed off their talents as they performed and danced for their guests. It was really nice to see newlywed couple enjoying and having fun on their wedding day. Here are some of the photos taken while I was doing her hair and makeup before the wedding ceremony:

I always forget to take a photo of the client before I do the makeup. Good thing she reminded me to take a picture of her so she can see the “Before and After” shots. Most wouldn’t want their pictures taken without any makeup on! She’s really oozing with confidence and that’s what makes her really gorgeous!

High Fashion E-Session | Behind the scenes

I decided to share one of my best experience in doing engagement shoots. I had the privilege to work with two artistic and amazing photographers, Julie Barecenas and Mervin Alcachupas, plus the coolest couple ever, Marvin and Rose Ann. This was the first project that I had to combine makeup artistry, styling and art direction. The couple were very much willing to do what was conceptualized.

As an artist, each of us had different views and perspective on how we wanted to showcase our talent but all our hard work paid off. Collaborating with different artists was not really hard at all especially if all aimed for one purpose –  to create wonderful photos.  It was very overwhelming to see the results of our combined efforts, ideas and hard work. I’d like to share to you these photos that were taken before the actual photo shoot.

What’s Your Story?

I met the bride in July when I was still studying at Make Up Forever/Maquillage Professionel School of Make Up Artistry. She was model during that time. I never thought that she was serious about getting me as her Hair and Makeup Artist on her special day! It was nerve wracking since the last time I had done makeup for weddings was almost a year ago (I didn’t have any formal training during that time).

I got to know the couple on their e-session shoot. I helped them organize and create a story board for their engagement shoot. They wanted to have a vintage feel which is somewhat similar to the movie – The Notebook. I researched on the materials and pegs that we used to achieve what they wanted. I gave them the pegs and asked them to send me any similar wardrobes they have on their closet. They sent me all their clothes and shoes and then I tried to mix and match what they have.

At the day of the shoot, I just paired their wardrobes with beautiful accessories and hats. For the make up, I just made sure that it was light and a bit nude at the start of the shoot progressing to a bit dark and vintage until the end. Check out their cool AVP (created by Margaret Siason)

One Lovely Wedding

I really love weddings! It gives a moment of peace, love and joy. I was so lucky that I became part of this lovely couple’s most special day. The bride wanted a look that will just enhance her beautiful features. I decided to use Make Up Forever’s HD Primer and Face and Body Liquid Foundation no. 34 and then for her eyes I used this gorgeous Stila”s In the Moment Eye Shadow Palette for a more natural and fresh look.

I enjoyed working with this couple. I get to see they’re wacky and most intimate moments during their e-session until their big day!

Hairstyle Etc!

Thank God for the Talent! I never thought I would be doing hair and makeup today. I didn’t have any formal training when it comes to hair styling but because a friend of mine (also a make up artist) needed some help for her collaboration and folio shoot, I didn’t think twice. The photographer, who shoots for FHM, just showed me some pegs of the look they want to create. So, I plugged the curling iron and started styling!

Loving Veejay Floresca’s Creations!

I had the privilege to work with the glam team! I received an sms message from the ever so gorgeous model, Farah Ramos, and asked me if I would be interested to do her hair and makeup for a collaboration shoot. I didn’t think twice and I immediately said yes.

She introduced me to her friends, Loi Villarama (a fabulous stylist) and RV Mitra (Super great photographer), and then they showed me some pegs of the look they want for the shoot.

On the day of shoot, I saw the most elegant and extravant gown ever! These gowns were created by Veejay Floresca, a famous designer in Manila. I really had a great time working with these great people and I look forward in working with them again.

The Floresca Collection!
